About Us
The Universal Academy is a non-public early learning educational facility located at the Universal Truth Center in Miami Gardens, Florida. The Universal Academy began in 1987 as a not-for-profit school, a wholly independent affiliate of the Universal Truth Center, a Universal Foundation for Better Living church. The school is open for children from birth months to 5 year olds and youth programs for ages 5 to 15 throughout the year. Admission is open to all children regardless of race, color, religion, sex, citizenship, creed or national origin.
The founder of the Universal Academy, the late Rev. Dr. Mary A. Tumpkin, with the commitment of thirteen supporters, were determined that the best way to empower people to develop their divine potential was to start at an early age. Thus, the spiritually based educational institution was organized.
The Universal Academy aims to foster and support the growth and development of children, families, and our community by providing high-quality early childhood education, affordable childcare, and parent education programs.
The Universal Academy provides high quality, licensed, year-round early childhood education and child care for parents /guardians. We provide a safe, structured, positive and nurturing environment for children. Our teachers use developmentally appropriate curriculum for their daily schedules, environments, and activities.
The Universal Academy is licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families, is a registered subsidized care provider through the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade Monroe, Family Central and provides meals through the Florida Department of Health Child Care Food Program.
